GTK2 is in the middle of a revival, details can be found on the Devuan Users Forum (archived). I am fascinated by the work being done on GTK2 almost 25 years after its creation. Software is being created and updated, new linux/BSD distributions and window managers are being developed, and there is a buzzing community of people centered around this new "revival".

I happened to stumble on this when I received an email by one of the forum maintainers, who found my GTK2 Software Directory of use, and since then I have been lurking the forum.
